Our department incorporates a range of back and neck rehabilitation philosophies, including the McKenzie approach, dynamic lumbar stabilization, cervical stabilization and other manual therapy approaches. The goal is to restore function, improve mechanics and prevent re-injury.
- Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy uses the properties of water to achieve therapeutic results. Geared toward both swimmers and non-swimmers, this program assists with overall movement, stretching, strengthening and walking, and helps transition these benefits to out of water activities. Our pool program currently uses the Winona YMCA, but also has certain privileges at the Riverport Inn
- Lymphedema Services
Lymphedema is a chronic swelling caused by the accumulation of lymph fluid in the body, usually in an arm or leg. This service provides complete decongestive therapy, treatment to patients, including education about lymphedema prevention, massage techniques and bandaging.
- Stroke rehabilitation
These services are geared toward functional restoration or adaptation, gait improvement and neuromuscular re-education.
- Massage Therapy
The benefits of massage are numerous. Half hour and one hour massages are provided on a cash-pay basis. Gift certificates are available from the hospital cashier.
