Winona Health’s Living Service Excellence Award is presented annually to outstanding staff who perform their jobs exceptionally well and exemplify our Service Excellence Standards. WH Living Service Excellence Award winners are chosen based on the nominees’ qualities as presented in the nomination form.
Here are the 2008 LSE Award winners and an excerpt from their nomination form:
Autumn Herber, volunteer/development coordinator, Volunteer Relations
Autumn’s professionalism, positive attitude and kindness to everyone she interacts with is impressive. She truly understands the importance of customer service and showing appreciation to those who support our mission. Autumn is respected by both staff and volunteers and is appreciated for her important role. She wears a lot of hats – but events are always successful and volunteer shifts are always filled due to Autumn’s leadership.
Donna Hoffman, nursing assistant, Adith Miller Manor
Donna treats our residents like family. She loves them, cares for them and does special things with them. Our families trust the care she provides and they often comment on her care for the residents. Donna is warm, compassionate and loving, a natural care giver. She provides purpose and meaning to our resident’s lives. Donna demonstrates excellence with her teamwork skills everyday. It’s a pleasure to have Donna a part of our team.

Barb is absolutely dedicated to her job. She is always pleasant and quick to help patients and visitors, and she is equally quick to help her colleagues. Her work performance encompasses all of Winona Health’s service standards and she exemplifies living service excellence. She displays integrity and loyalty because that is part of who she is. She genuinely cares about people and she serves all customers with compassion, dignity and respect every day. She always does an excellent job and she does it with a smile.
Corrie Searles, director of Rehabilitation Services
Corrie creates a work environment in which people are empowered, productive, contributing and happy. She shows appreciation of each team member’s unique value, and she builds bridges, creating consensus in teams and getting everyone involved. She is kind and compassionate and, at the same time, she is clear about the results she is targeting. She keeps her eyes on the goal and her words reflect that. Corrie does everything to provide the best possible care to patients by creating a comfortable and friendly environment for service.
Xaisoua Xiong, floor technician, Environmental Services
Xaisoua Xiong is a dedicated Winona Health employee. He goes about his work in a quiet manner and he provides excellent service and is always willing to help out in whatever way he can. Xai is an exceptional leader in customer service. He is always smiling and extremely cordial to all he encounters whether staff, visitors or patients. He is patient centered in his tasks as demonstrated by assuring his work does not interrupt patient flow or activities. Xai is a pleasure to work with and a true asset to Winona Health.
